Surf Camp in Peniche for All Levels
Whether you have never touched a surfboard or you have been surfing for years, our coaching adapts to where you are. Every participant is grouped by level, so no one ends up in the wrong session — even if you are travelling with people at a different stage.

First contact with the ocean
Designed for those who have never surfed before. We cover everything from beach safety to catching your first waves, in a supportive and patient environment with small groups.
What you will work on
- Ocean awareness and water safety
- Understanding waves and how to read them
- Paddling technique and correct pop-up
- Riding whitewater waves with control
- Building confidence in the water
Our approach
Land drills before entering the water, foam boards for stability, small groups with individual coaching and clear feedback every session.
Building a solid foundation
You have had your first contact with surfing and want to develop consistency. We focus on the technical fundamentals that will support your progression at every level.
What you will work on
- Consistent pop-up with correct foot placement
- Paddling efficiency and board positioning
- Riding whitewater waves with direction and control
- Surf etiquette and basic line-up awareness
- Introduction to steering and first turns
Our approach
Foam board sessions with targeted drills on pop-up, balance, and wave timing. Video feedback to identify and correct technique early.
Into the line-up
The step from whitewater to the line-up is as much mental as it is physical. We focus on building the awareness and ocean reading skills that will make you a safer, smarter and more confident surfer from this point forward.

- Line-up safety and situational awareness
- How to paddle out efficiently using currents and avoiding breaking wave areas
- Reading waves — understanding how they form, break and where to position
- Positioning in the line-up and priority rules
- First green wave rides with correct take-off timing

Strong focus on ocean awareness and wave reading before and during sessions. Real-time coaching in the line-up, surf theory on wave mechanics, currents and line-up dynamics.
Technique, timing and consistency
You are surfing — now let’s make every wave count. We identify the specific aspects that are limiting your progression and build a clear plan to address them.
What you will work on
- Wave selection, positioning and take-off timing
- Bottom turn mechanics and first top turn
- Surfing different spots and wave types
- Improving consistency on both your forehand and backhand
- Surfing crowded line-ups — positioning, priority and decision-making under pressure
- Accelerating progression through regular video analysis

I came to PKSC for one week camp with my brother and it was the best time of our summer! We never surfed before but we had a lot of fun and learned basics of surfing in just a few days. He’s only 15 but he was already able to catch some waves and surf till the shore. I don’t do sports daily so I was worried if I’ll manage but teachers are really good here and they helped me a lot. Classes were tailored to our skill level each day which I think is a great thing. It gave me confidence to keep trying and it made me want to come back next year! 🙂 It’s a beautiful place to spend summer and learn surfing, I absolutely recommend it

Surfing was my dream and it came true. Thank you, PKSC team, for 5 great days we spent in Peniche. We’ve stayed in the beach house, which is close to PKSC school. Between the classes, you can enjoy lunch in their cafe or just stay sunbathing on the terrace with a wonderful ocean view. The coaches took care of all the students and help each of them to catch a wave!
